The goal of this practice is to treat our patients with honesty and integrity, while providing the best quality care possible.
You will be greeted upon arrival in the office and we will review your medical and dental histories in order to be aware of any medical problems that may affect your dental treatment, and to clarify areas that may be of concern to you.
We will perform a detailed examination of the teeth, gums, and adjacent structures in order to compile a complete dental record. Occlusion (bite) may also be evaluated. Obviously, if you have an emergency appointment, the current concern will be our priority.
If your initial appointment is with our hygienist, she will perform a thorough cleaning (prophylaxis) and review your oral hygiene methods with you, offering suggestions to enhance what you are already doing to help you maintain optimum oral health.
Although we firmly believe in the minimal use of x-rays, we need to see accurate films of your teeth and surrounding oral structures to design a plan for your dental treatment. Therefore, x-rays will be taken as necessary to assure a thorough and comprehensive examination. If you have had radiographs taken within the past year, please obtain them from your previous dentist.
Dr. Phan will give you a general assessment of your oral health at your first appointment. A more detailed diagnosis and treatment plan will be presented, if necessary, at a later appointment, after the radiographs have been carefully reviewed, and he has had the opportunity to fully evaluate the information gathered from previous visits. Also at that time financial arrangements for the treatment plan will be discussed.
It is in your interest to faithfully schedule these appointments since it is the best way you can protect the health of your teeth and oral structures. In addition, it gives us an opportunity to detect problems when they are small and to prevent some of the severe damage that can ensue after many missed maintenance appointments.
The fee for the initial visit may be a minimum of $450 or as much as $650 depending on what x-rays are required. You will be asked to pay this upon completion of the appointment, if you don’t have insurance. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, checks and cash.
Today many patients have dental insurance. We will bill your insurance carrier for you, but, since our relationship is with you and not your insurer, please be aware that you may be billed the full amount should your insurance deny benefits.
We are under contract with BCBS of MA. Although we are not contracted as network providers with CIGNA , we are discount dentists. Please be aware that your policy, with any insurance company, may only partially reimburse services rendered and any balance will be due at the time of your appointment.
We are not under contract with either Mass Health or Medicare.
Usage of cell phones is acceptable in our reception area. We kindly request that while you are in the treatment room you turn the ringer off, set it to vibrate or turn the phone off completely.
